ADT Caps, through an online media conference held in the morning of the 26th, disclosed the new company name of ‘SK shieldus’ and introduced its new visions and business strategies.

▶Revealing of the new company name, ‘SK shieldus’, with the slogan of ‘Technology for your Everyday Life’

SK shieldus is a combined word of ‘shield’ and ‘us’ to signify the company's desire to establish an environment in which customers, society, and us can feel safe and secure. This change of company name was decided upon to demonstrate the intent of the company to catapult to the status of a ‘Lifecare Platform’ company providing safety, security, and the customer value of convenience, as a transition from a company that focused mostly on security.

SK shieldus also disclosed its new slogan, ‘Technology for your Everyday Life’. It contains the intent of the company to enable ‘security in daily life’, to generate ‘safety of society’, and to continue on with ‘sustainability of tomorrow’ in establishing a peaceful and stable society through the use of New ICT.

▶Goal of increasing the sales revenues of new growth businesses including Cloud, Converged Security, Unmanned technology and Care, etc. five-fold by 2025

During the online conference, Jin Hyo Park, representative director of SK shieldus, stated that, “our company that has repetitively undergone Deep Change managed to achieve the highest growth rate since our incorporation by recording an increase in revenues by more than twofold within 3 years of having become a member of the SK Group in 2018,“ and disclosed that, “we are aiming to increase revenues generated from new growth businesses by more than fivefold by 2025, after changing the company name to SK shieldus and accelerating our evolution to a lifecare platform company.”

In particular, Jin Hyo Park, CEO, stated that, “we are targeting an expansion of the proportion of sales revenues generated from new growth businesses, including Cybersecurity and Cloud, Converged Security, Unmanned technology and Care, etc. to 60% by 2025, by drastically modifying our current business structure centered around physical security.”

▶Introduction of a growth strategy for 4 major Big Tech-based core businesses, introduction to Converged Security platform, ‘SUMiTS’, for the first time

Jin Hyo Park introduced specific growth strategies and goals for the 4 major business areas of Cybersecurity, Physical Security, Converged Security, and Safety & Care to be pursued as a lifecare platform company aimed at improving the life of customers.

In particular, the company has plans to apply Big Tech capabilities including AI, Digital Transformation (DT), Cloud, and Quantum in all areas of the 4 major core businesses. Most importantly, AI is applied not only to control the platform but also home security, unmanned technology solutions, and industrial safety, etc., and will be fundamentally applied to all services to be launched in the future. In addition, the company is planning to continuously develop differentiated services based on DT technology capable of processing data at the rate of 250,000 cases per second, or 8 trillion cases per annum, a multi-Cloud Security Management Platform (CSMP), and Quantum technology applied to the financial sector and industrial safety, etc.

First, Cloud security and mobile are selected as the key stepping stones for growth in the Cybersecurity business.

The company has been continuously increasing the technological level of Cloud security, already having secured unparalleled status in the domestic market, including launching the Multi-Cloud Security Management Platform (CSMP), capable of assessing and inspecting complicated security management elements at a glance last August. The company is planning to pursue M&A with global cloud security solution companies while further fortifying cooperative relationships with the Cloud Service Provider (CSP), Managed Service Provider (MSP), and global solution providers. Through such efforts, the company has plans to increase the revenues generated from Cloud security by more than fivefold by 2025.

The Mobile business is scheduled to have ‘Mobile Guard’, launched last July, established as the best mobile care solution in Korea, transcending the status of mobile vaccines. For this purpose, the company is preparing a subscription type service with the addition of diversified functions for the caring of parents, children, and companion animals, etc.

In addition, SK shieldus will further innovate the Physical Security market through the full introduction of AL CCTV within the year. While Physical Security focused on protecting the assets of the customers thus far, AI CCTV-based physical security will play the role of a business companion of the customer by providing a business intelligence function that is helpful to generate profits through the analysis of the business district and sales revenues, etc. in the future.

In particular, SK shieldus introduced the intelligent type Converged Security platform, ‘SUMiTS’, as the company developed independently as an unparalleled Converged Security provider equipped with both Big Tech-based Cyber security and Physical Security business capabilities simultaneously which fortified its intent to lead the Converged Security market. ‘SUMiTS’ is an intelligent-type Converged Security platform capable of quickly coping with complex and diversified internal and external threats. It is capable not only of facility management, industrial safety, disaster management but also preventing security threats in the domains of Operation Technology/Industrial Control System (OT/ICS) in advance by grafting AI, IoT, and Big Data technologies to the cyber and physical security capabilities of SK shieldus.

SK shieldus selected its Safety & Care business as the domain that will undergo the most extensive changes. First, the company is aiming to secure more than 1 million households as customers for ‘Caps Home’, a smart home safety service optimized for apartments and multi-dwelling buildings, which are the most prominent residential units in Korea, by further accelerating its growth by 2025. In addition, the company is planning to further advance Caps Home into a ‘smart home platform’ by expanding its smart home ecosystem to include the provision of secure courier services through linkage with e-Commerce and by linking with home IoT devices, such as safes and door locks, etc. at the home.

In addition, in alignment with the trend of unmanned technology currently undergoing rapid progress, the company is planning to expand the no. of subscribed outlets to more than 5,000 by the end of this year and diversify its unmanned business outlets based on the ‘Caps Unmanned Security Zone’ solution launched last July. Furthermore, the company is planning to evolve the unmanned parking business, after entering into a strategic partnership with T-Map, into a ‘mobility hub’ for which diversified services such as services closely associated with daily life activities, (including the charging and cleaning of electric cars, and shared-vehicle depots, etc.) are concentrated - transcending the realm of simple parking services.

In addition, senior care business and quarantine services linked with New ICT will be expanded as the core domain for the provision of the value of security and safety for peace of mind.

▶Assertively pursue global expansion with an emphasis on sustainable growth through ESG management

SK shieldus will assertively pursue global expansion on the foundation of the business capabilities and know-how accumulated at home and abroad. Secudium, an information security control system the company developed independently, was successfully exported to

Vietnam last year, and the company will expand its global control platform business with this success as the foundation. Furthermore, the company repeatedly emphasized that a 100% conversion to electric cars, the expansion of environmentally friendly infrastructure such as smart energy business, the establishment of a social safety network for vulnerable social classes and local society, sharing security knowledge, the fortification of social value activities such as support for small businesses, and ESG management activities including responsible/transparent management centered around the board of directors are essential tasks to be pursued for sustainable growth in the future.

Lastly, Jin Hyo Park disclosed that, “SK shieldus will be expanding all our solutions and services with a sense of mission to make the Republic of Korea the safest and most comfortable country in the world,” and that, “we will continue to make marked progress as a lifecare platform company providing security, safety, and care to ‘people’, ‘objects’ and ‘space’ without temporospatial restrictions.”

Meanwhile, the company will maintain ‘ADT Caps’ and ‘infosec’ as the Physical Security and Cybersecurity business brands, and will be using ‘SUMiTS’, newly introduced, as the Converged Security business brand. The octagonal logo of ‘ADT Caps’ and logo of ‘infosec’ that symbolize trust with customers will continue to be used.
